Just off the lobby is the world renowned chef Daniel Boulud's new DB Bistro Moderne, a favorite of local celebrities. The second floor is home to a 12-seat Tracy Stern SALONTEA, where "high tea," fresh scones and pastries are served in the afternoons before guests traipse off to the theaters. Guestrooms are appointed with a contemporary décor described by the New York Times as earth tones in the rooms and chocolate marble in the bathrooms. Three duplex suites feature private terraces and 20-foot ornate ceilings. Amenities include 350-count Italian Frette bed linens, down-feather beds, safes, 24-hour room service, DVD and CD players and accompanying libraries. Unique features are the TVs that are cleverly concealed behind two-way mirrors. (The mirrors become transparent when guests switch on the TVs. Neat, eh?) The contemporary décor extends into the bathrooms, which feature complimentary Hermes upscale bath amenities, designer fixtures, phones, TV speakers, and either oversized tubs or shower with bidets.
Although the immediate area is bustling, guests should find Manhattan's City Club Hotel a quiet and comfortable haven in the middle of the city that never sleeps. |
